Bitcoin has returned to its highest levels since the start of the year, marking a significant recovery as the $85,000 mark was finally breached. According to Glassnode data, the heavy selling that had held the price back in recent days has been absorbed, and the market has seen a return of confidence amongst professional investors, particularly in the face of uncertainty stemming from the United States.

Breaking through the $85,000 barrier coincided with weaker-than-expected US employment figures, exacerbating market volatility. Some market participants point out that recent inflows into spot ETFs tracking Ethereum and Bitcoin have kept institutional interest high, helping to bolster demand just when many were expecting profit-taking following the summer rally.

Some analysts highlight the differing reactions among market participants: long-term holders have, to some extent, chosen to cash in on the gains accumulated over recent months; others, however, are betting on the bull run continuing. Some trading platforms are reporting an increase in long positions in both Bitcoin and Ethereum, a sign that sentiment remains geared towards further gains, albeit with an awareness of the risks associated with global macroeconomic uncertainty.

The recent developments are also significant for investors in Italy, where interest in cryptocurrencies is picking up again following a period of scepticism. Experts, however, urge investors not to get carried away by the excitement of the new highs: volatility remains high and price movements can be sudden, particularly in response to economic data or regulatory news at an international level.

As Bitcoin approaches the symbolic threshold of $87,000 and investors look to Ethereum as a potential star performer in the coming months, what is emerging is a landscape where every move counts double. When the market seems too confident, the risk of a sudden reversal is just around the corner, and it is the most vigilant who stand to gain when the tide really turns.
